Surface Investigation
The surface survey project by the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage is aimed at gathering data for a cultural heritage database. Survey results obtained so far from this project have been compiled and published into a CD-ROM series titled National Cultural Heritage Compendium.
The project team is currently surveying the archaeological sites of Goguryeo located within South Korea, and other sites within the DMZ, a zone inaccessible to civilians, after China's attempt to misrepresent this ancient kingdom's history led to heated public discourse.
