Animal of Natural Monument

The exhibition area for animals of natural monuments which greets you with life-size stuffed specimens produced by cultural heritage repair technician.
Animal stuffed specimens exhibited at the exhibition area for animals of Natural Heritage Center are stuffed specimens made by hands of cultural heritage repair technician with real animals of natural monuments which were donated, or died of natural causes or in accidents. You can meet specimens of rare and various animals designated as natural monuments: not only specimens of domestic animals which have been together with Korean ancestors in the history including Jindo dogs of Jindo, Sapsaree Dog of Gyeongsan, and Black Pork of Jeju, but also those of from birds of prey like eagles and eagle-owls, to storks and cranes which often appear in ancient books, to mandarin ducks symbolizing conjugal harmony, to otters and Asiatic Black Bears familiar to Koreans. Each explanation panel of exhibited specimens introduces, in detail, cultures and histories of each animal of a natural monument; and, as the area exhibits the experience box where you can touch, in person, stuffed specimens of animals of natural monuments, and, also, the aquarium where you can observe real life fishes of natural monuments, it is where you can meet unfamiliar, difficult animals of natural monuments, more familiarly.
