Plant of Natural Monument

The exhibition area for plants of natural monuments which greets visitors
first when they enter the entrance of the permanent exhibition room
Here, you can see old big trees with long histories and legends, forests
made by human beings and trees, and models of village rituals of Tutelary
Forest and Windbreak Forest where you can find stories of the ancestors and
Koreans both of whom are living together in the forests. Aside from them,
with old paintings, you can see specimens of pagoda trees, junipers, and
ginkgo trees, the natural monuments concealed in old paintings in the
Korean history including Painting of Eastern Palace (東闕圖), and Painting
Album Depicting the Matriculation Ceremony of Crown Prince Hyomyeong
into Seonggyungwan (National Confucian Academy) (王世子入學圖帖); and
the experience drawer is installed for you to learn, one by one, uses of plants
of natural monuments being used from the past to the present.
The exhibition area for plants of natural monuments not just exhibits
specimens of the plants, but is a place with fun to find their historical,
cultural and academic values and to look stories concealed in them.
