- 국립문화재연구소,『2018 한국고고학저널』 발간 -

문화재청 국립문화재연구소(소장 최종덕)는 한국고고학의 주요 발굴조사 성과를 담은 잡지 형식의 보고서인 『2018 한국고고학저널』 국·영문판을 발간하였다.

『2018 한국고고학저널』은 2018년도에 학계와 언론으로부터 주목을 받았던 매장문화재 발굴조사 성과 중 고고학을 비롯한 문화재 전문가 구성원들이 선정한 대표적인 국내외 유적 32개소 성과를 수록한 책이다.

책자에는 대전 신탄진동 구석기 유적에서부터 진해 제포 유적 등 조선 시대에 이르기까지 시대별로 대표적인 조사 성과들이 담겨 있으며, 연구소가 진행한 러시아 연해주 스타로레첸스코예 발해 평지성 발굴조사 성과도 볼 수 있다. 또한, 조사 당시 학계와 대중매체에서 크게 주목 받았던 고양 도내동 구석기 유적과 관련한 주제에 대해 고고학자 간의 견해를 비교하는 기획 인터뷰도 담겼다.

특히, 일반인이 접근하기 힘든 유적 발굴조사 현장에 대해 직접 찾지 않아도 가상현실(VR)로 체험하는 ‘VR로 보는 발굴조사 현장’ 부문을 따로 구성하였다. 책자에 수록된 QR코드(정보무늬)를 모바일 휴대전화로 비추면 발굴조사 현장을 360도 가상체험 영상으로 생생하게 접할 수 있다.

가상현실 영상이 제공되는 유적은 ▲ 천안 동부바이오 일반산업단지 진입도로 개설공사구간 내 유적, ▲ 부안 우금산성(동문지,남문지), ▲ 경주 탑동 6-1번지 및 6-6번지 단독주택 신축부지 내 유적, ▲ 경주 율동 산 3-19번지 단독주택 신축부지 내 유저, ▲ 제천 교동 유적, ▲ 공주 교촌리 백제 전축분, ▲ 서천 봉선리 유적, ▲ 아차산성 남문지 및 배수구·망대지, ▲ 하남 감일 공공주택지구 유적, ▲ 부안 유천리 요지(사적 제69호), ▲ 강화 석릉(사적 제369호) 및 주변 고분군, ▲ 충주 칠금동 제철유적, ▲ 울주 대곡리 반구대암각화(국보 제285호) 주변, ▲ 서울 풍납동 토성(사적 제11호) 서성벽 복원지구 내 유적, ▲ 무주 대차리 고분군, ▲ 경주 동천동 373번지 단독주택 신축부지 내 문화유적, ▲ 창원 현동 고분군, ▲ 창녕 교동·송현동 고분군이다.

국립문화재연구소는 정부혁신의 하나로 『한국고고학저널』을 2006년부터 해마다 발간(국영문)하고 있으며 국내는 물론, 해외에도 한국고고학의 최신 성과를 알리고 학술교류 활성화에 이바지하고 있다.

국립문화재연구소는 국내·외 국공립 도서관과 국외 연구기관 등 관련 기관에 보고서를 배포하고, 국립문화재연구소 누리집(http://www.nrich.go.kr, 문화유산연구지식포털)에도 공개하여 누구나 열람할 수 있도록 할 예정이다.

문화재청 국립문화재연구소는 책임운영기관으로서 앞으로도 시대의 요구를 반영하여 연구 정보를 국민에게 널리 알리고, 국내외 관련 전문가를 비롯한 누구나 우리나라 매장문화재에 대한 성과와 그 가치를 더욱 쉽고 편하게 인식할 수 있도록 노력할 것이다.

Excavation Sites experienced via VR

- The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage publishes 『2018 Journal of Korean Archaeology』-

The National Research Institute of　Cultural Heritage of the Cultural Heritage Administration (Choi Jongdeok, Director General) has published Korean and English editions of the 『2018 Journal of Korean Archaeology』, a compilation of reports on major achievements of Korean archaeology in form of a Journal.

For this issue of『2018 Journal of Korean Archaeology』, 32 scientifically significan excavation sites in- and outside Korea were selected by experts in archaeology and cultural heritage, out of all the sites investigated in 2018, which have received special attention from media and academia.

The book contains various excavation achievements ranging from the Paleolithic Site in Sintanjin-dong, Daejeon to the Jepo Site in Jinhae of the Joseon Period, and the investigation results of the Starorechenskoe Balhae Fortress in Primorsky Krai, Russia. An expert interview is also included, comparing different views of archaeologists on the Donae-dong Paleolithic Site, which has received a great amount of attention of academia and public media at the time of its research.

Furthermore, the chapter ‘Excavation Sites, VR Experience’ was included, which enables people to experience archaeological excavation sites, which are usually hard to access for the public. 360° VR images of the excavation sites are available for viewing by simply scanning the QR codes contained in this chapter, via smartphones.

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, as part of Government Innovation, is contributing to the promotion of recent achievements of Korean archaeology inside and outside of the country, and encouraement of academic exchanges by publishing the 『Journal of Korean Archaeology』 every year since 2006 (in Korean and English).

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage will distribute the reports to national/public libraries and research institutions in- and outside of the country, and make them available online on the website of the NRICH, (www.nrich.go.kr, Cultural Heritage Research Knowledge Portal) for public access.

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Cultural Heritage Administration, as an executive agency, will continue to play a leading role in developing provision methods of research information that meet the demands of the times, and make efforts for experts home and abroad as well as the public to apprehend the achievements and values of our cultural heritage more easily and conveniently.
