미술유산 영문 연구자료 및 주제별 국가유산 연구성과 등 콘텐츠 확충하고 사용자 편의 위한 디자인 개선

국가유산청 국립문화유산연구원(원장 임종덕, 이하 ‘연구원’)은 연구원이 그간 축적해 온 국가유산 연구성과와 디지털 자료들을 누구나 더욱 편리하고 직관적으로 이용할 수 있도록 ‘국가유산 지식이음’ 누리집(https://portal.nrich.go.kr)을 전면 개편하였다.

먼저, ▲ 국보·보물로 지정된 기록화의 고화질 사진과 제작시기, 규격, 소장처, 해제(설명) 등을 한눈에 살펴볼 수 있는 국가지정 ‘기록화 DB’ 43건을 신규 구축하고, ▲ 해외 연구자와 외국인 이용자들을 위해 괘불, 초상화, 기록화, 미술원형자료 관련 조사 성과를 공개한 영문 메뉴인 ‘Artistic Heritage of Korea’도 개설하였다. 이와 함께 금석문, 한국고고학저널 등 기존 연구 자료의 최신자료도 함께 확인할 수 있다.

▲ 이번에 처음으로 선보이는 ‘테마 콘텐츠’는 연구자뿐 아니라 일반 이용자도 국가유산 연구성과를 주제별로 흥미롭게 접할 수 있도록 구성한 메뉴로, 현재 문화유산보존과학센터에서 보존처리한 국보와 보물 중 재질별 대표 유물을 소개하는 「국보·보물 보존처리 6선」, 2026년 말의 해를 맞아, 현장 발굴에서 실험실 분석에 이르기까지 연구원에서 수행한 고대 말과 관련된 조사·연구의 흐름을 풀어낸 「마부정제馬不停蹄」까지 2개의 콘텐츠가 공개되어 있다.
* 마부정제(馬不停蹄): 말의 발굽이 멈추지 않는다는 뜻으로 쉬지 않고 계속 나아감, 중단 없이 이어지는 노력과 행보를 비유하는 말이다.

▲ ‘학술대회 아카이브’에서는 연구원이 주관하고 참여한 학술대회의 발표자료와 영상 등을 체계적으로 제공하여 이용자가 학술정보를 보다 폭넓게 활용할 수 있다.

‘국가유산 지식이음’ 누리집과 함께 연구원 국·영문 누리집도 사용자 친화적으로 화면을 재정비하고, 정보를 눈에 띄게 배치하는 등 사용자 인터페이스(UI)의 편의성을 높여 개선하였다.

국가유산청 국립문화유산연구원은 이번 누리집 개편을 기반으로, 더욱 다양한 국가유산 조사·연구 성과를 단계적으로 개방하여 국민 누구나 편리하게 접근할 수 있는 열린 연구정보 창구를 구축해 나가고자 한다. 나아가 향후 인공지능(AI)를 활용한 연구정보의 대국민 서비스를 지속적으로 확대하여 국정과제 중 하나인 ‘세계에서 AI를 가장 잘 쓰는 나라 실현’을 위해서도 기여해 나갈 것이다.

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (NRICH, Director General Lim Jong-deock), under the Korea Heritage Service, has fully reorganized its NRICH Archive (“National Heritage Knowledge E-eum”) website (https://portal.nrich.go.kr). This reorganization aims to make the vast accumulation of national heritage research achievements and digital materials more intuitive and convenient for everyone to use.
*NRICH Archive: an integrated service providing research results and original texts related to the research, survey, and development of national heritage

First, the Documentary Paintings DB, a new database for 43 documentary paintings designated as National Treasure/Treasure has been established, where users now can view high-resolution original images, production dates, specifications, locations, and explanatory notes for these works at a glance. A dedicated menu Artistic Heritage of Korea, for international researchers and foreign users has also been launched. It shares survey results related to large Buddhist hanging paintings (Gwaebul), portraits, record paintings, and original art materials. Furthermore, the latest versions of existing research materials, such as epigraphy and the Journal of Korean Archaeology, are also available.

For the first time, the website features Theme Content designed to allow the general public, not just researchers, to explore research achievements in an engaging format. Currently available are: Conservation Treatment of 6 National Treasures/Treasures, introducing representative artifacts by material that have undergone conservation at the Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Center; and Mabu-jeongje (馬不停蹄), celebrating the Year of the Horse in 2026, explaining the flow of ancient horse-related research conducted by the NRICH, from field excavation to laboratory analysis.
* Mabu-jeongje (馬不停蹄): a metaphor meaning “a running horse does not stop its hoofs,” symbolizing unceasing progress and continuous effort

The Academic Conference Archive systematically provides presentation materials and videos from academic conferences hosted or attended by the NRICH, allowing users to utilize academic information more broadly.

Along with the NRICH Archive, the main NRICH websites (both Korean and English) have been redesigned to be more user-friendly. The user interface (UI) has been improved by rearranging information for better visibility and convenience.

Based on this reorganization, NRICH plans to gradually open more diverse national heritage survey and research achievements, establishing an open research information window accessible to all citizens. Furthermore, the NRICH aims to contribute to the national agenda of “Pioneering World-Class AI Utilization” by continuously expanding services that utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) for research information.
