Cultural treasures of our country are today endangered by various different types of threats. Meanwhile, the continuing scarcity of specialized facilities for scientific conservation of ancient artifacts and skilled experts is making the prospect of their long-term preservation further grimmer. To address this lack of infrastructure for conservation and strengthen national capabilities in conservation science, the government has recently decided to establish a specialized research facility: "Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Center."
As a leading conservation institution of the nation, the Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Center will be providing a comprehensive set of conservation and management services for both government-designated national treasures and non-government-designated cultural heritage resources.
